Novitech uses industry leading inertial navigation devices that were originally developed for aerospace and marine applications. These very accurate devices can be added to any of our tool versions to meet the customers’ requirements.
Resulting GPS data can be used in multiple ways. An IMU (Inertial Mapping Unit), is a device used for this purpose, and has a triad of gyroscopes, and accelerometers with supporting electronic circuitry.
The IMU data is collected and post-processed using GPS locations along the pipeline.
